A feature of Micronet is its ability to integrate with the Micronet Kitting System (MKS) – an optional module that can be purchased separately.
The Micronet Kitting system (MKS) is designed to process ‘kit packs’, where a kit pack is an item that is priced and sold as one piece but actually consists of a collection of raw material stock items which may themselves be sold individually. Kit items are stored within Micronet as normal stock items in product categories designated as either Manufactured or Sub-assembled.
You can have maximum flexibility with the Micronet Kitting System so that the processing of kits can be manual or fully automatic in operation.
The Micronet Kitting System is provided with a full maintenance facility where you can set up your own Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain up-to-date pricing for both raw materials and the finished items.
Kitting sales |
During the sales process, kits can be selected for sale. The resultant printed output on your invoices can either display the finished item as a summary, or list each of the sub-assembly components. |
Automatic kitting |
You can use this option to assemble kits that have already been sold. MKS scans the kit items looking for those where the quantity on hand has gone negative, automatically assembles the kits from the raw materials, creates an audit work sheet and returns the kit's quantity on hand to zero. |
Trial kitting / assembly |
With this option, MKS looks only at the available raw materials and returns the number of kits that could be assembled at this point in time. You will be given an option to either create works orders for their assembly or automatically convert to finished goods. In either case, MKS will assemble the kits from the raw materials, create an audit work sheet and increase the kit's quantity on hand accordingly. |
Works orders |
Each time an assembly of a kit is performed by the Micronet Kitting System, an auditable works order is allocated and printed to verify the transfer of the raw materials to a finished kit item. Kit raw materials are flagged by the Micronet Kitting System as committed for assembly. Once completed, the completed amount can be entered. At this point, the raw material items are taken up and the kit quantity on hand is increased. |
